Interview Date: 20 and 22 February 2024The Role:Join our friendly and supportive tobacco control sub-team, within the Healthy Team, to advance your career in Public Health whilst playing a key role in addressing health inequalities and preventing ill-health in our communities. We are part of the wider Hampshire and Isle of Wight Public Health Team who enjoy the challenge of working innovatively to ensure continuous improvement of public health initiatives and driving them through to completion.
Working closely with services and partners supporting vulnerable children and young people, such as Early Help, Corporate Parenting and Youth services and our current preventing smoking and vaping in young people provider – “No Limits”, you will work to develop new pathways and interventions, which will enable children, young people and families to receive support to become smokefree and sustain this approach for good.
You will use your excellent relationship building and communication skills to work effectively and build interest and capacity with a wide variety of partners towards achieving a smokefree generation in Hampshire. Your ability to work across a complex system will enable you to lead programmes successfully.
This is a brand-new role gives you the opportunity to bring your unique touch to the role, whilst working autonomously and within a vibrant team. A Master’s in Public Health is essential (or a Masters in a related field or working towards this) and relevant senior experience of working in Tobacco Control for Children, Young People and Families is essential, including detailed knowledge and experience implementing heal
